Melissa & Doug Basic Skills Board Wooden Dressing Skills Puzzle

Make everyday dressing skills more approachable with the Melissa & Doug Basic Skills Board, a colourful wooden activity toy designed for hands-on learning. Featuring a friendly bear illustration, this engaging board gives children the chance to practise the fastenings they encounter on real clothing in a fun, manageable way.

The board includes six removable wooden puzzle pieces, each focused on a different practical skill: buckling, buttoning, lacing, snapping, tying and zipping. Children can work through the activities at their own pace, building confidence as they learn how each fastening works. The removable pieces also add a simple puzzle element, encouraging children to match, position and replace each part correctly.

As well as supporting early independence, the Basic Skills Board helps develop fine motor control, hand-eye coordination, concentration and problem-solving. Its bright colours, varied textures and familiar dressing actions make it suitable for quiet, screen-free play at home, in a nursery or in an early-years learning environment.
