Hanabi
Hanabi is a cooperative card game in which players work together to create complete sequences of fireworks cards. The challenge is that each player holds their cards facing away from them, so they cannot see their own hand.
Players take turns giving carefully limited clues about colour or number, helping teammates decide which cards to play, discard or keep. Communication is indirect, and every clue must be used thoughtfully because the team has a limited number of information tokens and mistakes.
How to play
Key features
- Give another player a clue about their cards.
- Play a card in an attempt to build a firework sequence.
- Discard a card to recover an information token.
- Work together to complete the five colour sequences.
Hanabi offers a compact, thoughtful game experience for players who enjoy deduction, teamwork and careful decision-making. The cooperative format means everyone shares the same objective, while the hidden-hand rule creates a distinctive communication puzzle.
