Players take turns placing shaped pieces onto the peg board while trying to build their score and restrict their opponents’ options.
The challenge is based on two easy-to-learn rules: pieces of the same colour must touch, but pieces of the same shape must not touch. Players also need to think carefully about how many open pegs remain around their pieces. The winner can be the player who places the most pieces, or the player who leaves the most open spaces around their pieces, depending on the chosen scoring approach.
With 16 colourful playing pieces in green, blue, magenta and orange, plus the game board and instructions, GridBlock offers engaging competitive play for 2–4 players.
